Ecology in the Textile Sector
When cotton is exposed to sunlight for a long time, its colors turn yellow and strength losses are observed. Linen is more resistant than cotton, and gradual deteriorations are observed when exposed to sunlight for a long time. Wool deteriorates in long-term interactions. When silk is exposed to sunlight for a long time, strength losses occur. Nylon has a very high durability, and when exposed for a long time, decreases in strength are observed.
Today, it is a system based on textile production that is suitable for the environment and human health. The chemicals used in all stages of textile products throughout their life cycle, from the acquisition of raw materials to the final form and waste, as well as issues related to the environment and human health such as wastewater, noise levels in workplaces, and flue gas, form the main criteria for studies on ecological textile products.
