There are different methods that can be applied for refunding purchases made with a credit card. The first of these is purchase cancellation. However, for this transaction to be made, the POS device must not have been used after you, meaning no other transaction has been made. In such cases, the cancellation is processed through the credit card POS device. If another transaction is made on the POS device, the cancellation is carried out by the bank, and the amount with the same figures is reflected as a credit on the credit card, thus resetting the transaction.
